IMMERSE: Contemporary Dance Labs

IMMERSE: contemporary dance labs are a series of labs led by a practicing professional contemporary dance artist each with a focus on a particular physical and creative inquiry. It is an initiative of Australian Dance Party and QL2 Dance responding to a need for more professional development opportunities, employment and connections within the ACT dance community. We have already seen promising artists collaborations arising from the labs.

Immerse enables an environment for professional dance artists to explore, test and discover, to connect and network, and to explode new ways of working/moving. The aim is to dig a little deeper into a process or approach over a three week period, working with a consistent group, extending the creative curiosities and physical development of movers and makers in the ACT.

Immerse is usually delivered in a full day session, in our Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre.

Local and visiting professional dance artists. Lab artists have included Melanie Lane, Debora di Centa, Sara Black, James Batchelor, Rhiannon Newton, Lucky Lartey and Liz Lea.
