Australian Dance Party
Australian Dance Party (ADP) creates evocative and enlivening dance experiences within natural and urban environments. Through our work we contemplate contemporary issues and stimulate thinking and action for change. We harness the playfulness and vulnerability of dance in unlikely environments to reach new audiences and communicate important ideas.
Led by award winning choreographer and performer, Alison Plevey, the company’s core artists include Canberra dancers; Olivia Fyfe, Alana Stenning, Stephen Gow and Ryan Stone, all QL2 Alumni. Now in its fourth year, ADP is an important platform for developing sustainable and meaningful careers for dance professionals in the ACT.
Recent work includes Mine! presented at Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance Brisbane 2020, Critics Circle Award winning From the Vault at a secret warehouse 2019, Seamless reimagined for performance at the National Portrait Gallery 2019 and ENERGEIA at Mt. Majura solar farm 2018.
As company in residence, ADP proudly collaborates in partnership with QL2, as teachers and choreographers for the QL2 Program and in working together on projects such as Weave, hustle, halt at the National Portrait Gallery (2017) and YGen to IGen at Art, Not Apart Festival (2020).
