2024 is a significant year for QL2 Dance, in two ways.
Firstly, we celebrate 25 years of offering innovative, creative dance experiences for young people.
Grown from humble beginnings as the youth dance initiative of The Australian Choreographic Centre, QL2 Dance had an enormous year of activity in 2023. We engaged with 718 young people across 11 programs, and reached more than 3000 audience through seven productions including an international tour to Thailand. Additionally, our programs supported 128 professional artists through 29 residencies and labs and 38 contracts.
We thank our community, deeply, for their support of our organisation. We couldn’t have made it this far, without them.
2024 also marks a vital transition for QL2 Dance, as Artistic Director Ruth Osborne OAM passes the leadership to Alice Lee Holland.
QL2 Dance seeks a sustainable future. The past four years have been challenging. The pandemic has impacted the number of young people engaging with our programs, while the costs associated with producing these programs surge.
Change is imminent – and we invite you to join us, on our journey.
Our vision for the future builds on incredible foundations as we EXPLORE, ACTIVATE and CREATE.
