Sewing for Taiwan: daCi Sewing Bee #1

Image

We had a sewing bee on Sunday 17th June, where volunteers helped to make the denim pants for the 10 Perth dancers who will be joining the 10 Canberra dancers for the trip to Taiwan.

It was a huge help to have the volunteers’ support – thanks so much to Linda, Trish, Jeanette and Maz for your hard work!

Once the dancers from Perth arrive we will be able to do the fittings and finish the pants off, and then off they’ll go to Taiwan with the dancers!

We have been back for a couple of fittings since the sewing bee, and were able to catch a glimpse of the QL2 rehearsals for the Taiwan dance conference. It was so moving and wonderful – and it’s going to be fantastic seeing the collaboration between QL2 and STEPS when the Perth dancers arrive in Canberra in a few short days!

Stay tuned for more information about their progress leading up to the trip!

The dark blue denim pants will be worn with colour-blocked tops for the show.
