In the flesh and in online social networks, young people drive cultural change, mapping new relationships with people and cultures from around the world. Borders and boundaries, privacy and communication, tradition and transgression: is it a global village, a virtual city, a family?

In 2008, Quantum Leap is working with top interstate and local choreographers – including ex- Canberra dancer Paul Zivkovich (Australian Dance Theatre, Bonachela Dance Company London) and Paul White (Australian Dance Theatre; DV8, London,)
Soft Landing 1 starts next week

Next week the first  Soft Landing gets underway, with  renowned choreographer Solon Ulbrich working with 12 dance graduates from universities around Australia, many originally from Canberra. Solon will work with them to develop and perform a new dance work over the next four weeks.

Quantum Leap's first project for the year, "My sister, my brother", is underway, with over 65 auditioning last Sunday for a 5-month process of creation and rehearsal, culminating in performances at Canberra Playhouse. School groups bookings are already going well. Quantum Leap dancers will be  working with top interstate and local choreographers – including ex- Canberra dancer Paul Zivkovich (Australian Dance Theatre, Bonachela Dance Company London) Paul White (Australian Dance Theatre; DV8, London) and Alice Holland (WA) , along with professional composers, and video producers Bearcage Productions.









Is the guts of culture a global village, a virtual city, a family?

On Tuesday 4 March, QL2 Centre for Youth Dance  in Canberra  launches its 2008 program and a brand new look.

Following their success with Unspeakable at the Canberra Playhouse, Canberra's Quantum Leap youth dance ensemble is again at the theatre: this time with Turn the pages, a new piece developed with mostly younger members, working with professional choreographers and assisted by some of the older dancers who were involved in Unspeakable
