 QL2 Centre for Youth Dance, in partnership with NewActon, presents a series of free dance performances, devised collaboratively by some of Australia’s most exciting young dance artists.
Performed live on locations throughout the NewActon precinct, these performances are the result of a four-week process entitled "Soft Landing 2", which aimed at enhancing the skills and experience of recent graduates from Australia’s finest tertiary dance training institutions.
Daylight Performances
As the chill of Winter moves towards the warmth of Spring, rug up and come with us on a guided journey through the NewActon precinct. In the commercial and public spaces of the development, dancers will present site-specific works which will allow audiences to see the architecture and environment of NewActon through fresh eyes. Exploring the themes of public and private behaviour, these performances will provide exciting contemporary dance pieces in which audiences will recognise themselves, and in which we they will see reflections of our lives “In The Public Domain”.

Evening Performances
In the warm and welcoming indoor spaces of NewActon, be surprised and entertained as the young artists from QL2 animate the precinct in unexpected and entertaining ways. Wander through the foyer of the Diamant Hotel, and on into the restaurants and bars, and come face-to-face with live dance installations and physical imagery that will enhance your experience of these dynamic public spaces. Watch as much or as little as you choose - and then why not stay on drink or a meal to round off the evening?
