We want you to be part of this great contemporary dance project with Quantum Leap , starting soon! Performances at Canberra Playhouse in May 2012.

You will create this new work with choreographers Lina Limosani (Australian Dance Theatre, Chunky Move), Jade Dewi Tyas-Tunggal (on tour with ‘6/7 empty’) and Matt Cornell (Shaun Parker, DanceNorth).

Who can do it? You can!  If you are 15+ and want to make great dance. If you've got training, that's great.  If you're a keen mover, and have dance aptitude or other movement training - come to the audition. It will be workshop style (no need to practice a piece beforehand).

What is Quantum Leap anyway?

Quantum Leap is QL2 Dance' auditioned youth dance ensemble for ages 15-21, making passionate contemporary dance for all audiences:

  • Top professional contemporary choreographers
  • Collaborative projects
  • Challenging ideas
  • Great performances

It is demanding, but supportive. You work together to create sophisticated productions that wrestle with big ideas. If you’ve got training, experience or aptitude in contemporary dance, street funk, classical ballet, hip-hop, jazz dance, gymnastics, martial arts, or circus, then you should apply.

Who are we?

QL2 Dance: Australian youth dance at its best — transforming young lives and nurturing Australia’s future dance professionals.

We create challenging dance with young people. QL2 dancers are proving themselves as the next generation of Australian dance-makers and performers – in Rafael Bonachela Company, Chunky Move, Bangarra, Sydney Dance Company, Buzz Dance Theatre, Expressions Dance Company, Australian Dance Theatre and Australia’s thriving independent contemporary dance scene.
Our major projects give a deep understanding of choreography. And we support young dancers and choreographers as they step up to tertiary dance study, and into the profession. You’ll have a great experience whether you continue in dance, or take your passion to other fields.

“Quantum Leap gave me

the start and focus I needed
to kickstart my career”
Daniel Riley McKinley (Bangarra Dance Theatre)
