Hit the floor together will be a collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people from Canberra and surrounds, plus dancers from Adelaide and NAISDA. You will create this new dance work with choreographers Daniel Riley McKinley (Bangarra), Deon Hastie (Kurrurru) & Dean Cross.
Open to ages 14-26, with dance or gymnastics experience — the more the better! You will need to commit to Sundays from 10 March, full time for 6 days during 13–28 April, plus 6–21 July, and 28 July–3 August.
Subsidised places at $400 for the whole project — and bursaries are available if you cannot afford the fee. Register now online, go to the Facebook event page, or read more on our website.
Or if you are in a tertiary dance course, and want to be a Visiting Dancer in the project? Contact Ruth.
Here’s the project’s entry in the Centenary of Canberra’s Indigenous program. Looks great!
